Drax was one of the superheroes who was wiped out by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but we haven't seen the last of him yet. Dave Bautista, the actor who plays him, confirms that he'll return for Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
During a recent interview with Collider, Bautista reassured fans that he'll reprise his role as Drax in Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 even though he still doesn't know how that will happen.
"I got a lot of texts saying, 'I can't believe you're dead, your character is dead,'" the actor said. "They were really like heartbroken and I was like 'I'm gonna be in four. I'm gonna be in Guardians 3.' I don't know how they're bringing me back, yeah but somehow I'm going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Drax, among others, crumbled to dust thanks to Thanos' powerful snap. In fact, most of the Guardians were killed off except for Rocket Raccoon. His statement seems like a huge spoiler but he doesn't think it's a big deal revealing that his character will survive in future Marvel films because he's said it before.
"That's the only reason I'm not so concerned about giving any spoilers or giving anything away that Marvel would be mad because I said before, before the film even came out, that I've already filmed three and four, so I hope they won't be p****d!" Bautista explained. "And if they are, I'm gonna get an earful. I don't know how they're gonna put this all together. I don't know how its gonna pan out and how it's all going to turn out."
Even if Drax ends up returning in Avengers 4, some characters probably won't notice him standing alive and well. Hopefully, we'll see more hilarious scenes with Bautista's character.
Avengers: Infinity War is still showing in theaters. Avengers 4 is set to release in theaters on May 3, 2019.
