Dan Aykroyd Wants To Make A Live-Action Ghostbusters Netflix Series Like Stranger Things

Columbia Picture's Ghostbusters reboot might not have done so well last year, but it seems like original Ghostbusters creator and star Dan Aykroyd wants the film series to get another revival, this time as a live-action Netflix series.

Unwilling to give up his bran-child, Aykryod tells CinemaBlend that there might be a way to bring the Ghostbusters back to life without turning it into another movie reboot.

Sitting down in an interview with CinemaBlend, Aykroyd spoke about imagining how Ghosbusters could make a comeback as a live-action series on Netflix, imagining younger versions of the Ghostbusters in the series.

"Yes. Absolutely. Sure. Sure. I can see several possibilities there. You know? Take a cue from these guys in Stranger Things and maybe have the Ghostbusters in high school or something."

The ode-to-the-80's supernatural science fiction horror series by The Duffer Brother's gotten a lot of fans on Netflix, and this year the second season of Stranger Things has Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp) dressing up as the Ghostbusters while fighting beasts from the Upside Down.

Seeing how audiences love the nostalgic effect of Stranger Things, the idea of a high school version of the Ghostbusters might not be a shabby idea.

Stranger Things' second season drops on Netflix tomorrow, October 27.
