Marvel Studios is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe next week and last weekend the stars and creators of the franchise gathered for a cool family reunion photo shoot with each other.
Speaking in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman was made to face a photo of himself along with Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Laurence Fishburne and Samuel L. Jackson that had been taken at the gathering last weekend.
Jackson shared the photo on social media, and Kimmel tried his best to squeeze a few answers out of Marvel's Black Panther. Despite his pleading and prodding, however, Bosemen refused to say much about the photo.
"We were hanging out. I can't really say where we were at," Boseman tried to bat the issue away.
Unfortunately, Kimmel pressed for further details, asking whether the photo was taken on a set of a Marvel movie.
"It was not a set, but it was a Marvel thing," the Marvel star responded. "You know this always gets me in trouble... Somebody already messed up a little bit, and I saw what happened to them."
However, the Black Panther actor wasn't afraid to admit that the photo was his idea.
"I am not ashamed to say because usually, I'm the one to say, ‘Okay, I'm not going to take it,' it was my idea," Boseman opened up. "Because I see Cheadle and Mackie a lot, but its very rare that you have Sam Jackson and Fishburne in the same place, so I was like, ‘We got to take this picture.' No, that's too many black people at once. You got to wait for Black Panther for that to happen."
With Boseman being so tight-lipped about the matter, it's not hard to wonder whether the event was a secret Marvel party or a secret video project.
Either way, we'll eventually learn more about it when Marvel celebrates its anniversary next year.
