Celebrate Wonder Woman Day with Free Comics & More

Everyone is already looking forward to the first week of June as that will be when Wonder Woman will arrive in theaters. As it turns out, there's more coming during that week—specifically, the day after the premiere.

DC Entertainment has just announced (via Newsarama) a new event dubbed Wonder Woman Day. This will be held on June 3 in conjunction with the opening weekend of the movie. It will also be held in honor of the 75th year of the Amazon Princess.

"More than 2,000 comic retailers, bookstores, libraries, and other partners around the world will host ‘Wonder Woman Day' activations, including distributing free copies of two special edition issues. Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 reprints Wonder Woman #1 by bestselling writer Greg Rucka and artist Liam Sharp. For young readers, DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman Day Edition #1 features a chapter from the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls Vol. 3: Summer Olympus, written by Shea Fontana with art by Yancey Labat."

There are other evens tied in with Wonder Woman Day. For one thing, fans can expect retailers like Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, and Books-A-Million for in-store and digital promos. Warner Bros will also be partnering with different organizations for the event.

DC All Access will also have a bevy of new content starting May 29 until June 3, with discussions about our favorite strong woman in the Justice League team.
