Carrie Fisher Asked William Shatner to Sign a Slave Leia Photo

Star Trek and Star Wars seem to be like two franchises that go hand in hand, and it's always a delight to see the stars mingle with each other in real life. Just recently, William Shatner (Captain Kirk to you) revealed that he had a funny run-in with the late Carrie Fisher.

When asked by a fan if someone had ever brought Star Wars stuff for Shatner to sign, Shatner wrote back:

What a lot of fans love about it is how it would seem very characteristic of Fisher to bother Shatner for an autograph. Offscreen, Fisher was known for her sharp wit, and it sounds like asking someone from her rival franchise to sign a photo of her is something that she would do for laughs.

A lot of fans have been asking Shatner if he signed the photo, but he didn't give an update on it, so I guess it's a story for him to tell.

With J.J. Abrams directing Star Trek (2009) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the two franchises have never been more tied together. As a fan of both shows, I can say that there is actually more turmoil within the Star Wars fanbase as compared to Star Wars fans arguing with Trek fans.

Abrams' Star Wars Episode IX comes out Dec. 20, 2019.
