Justin Roiland Reacts to Rick and Morty Winning Emmy for Best Animated Program

We know that Rick and Morty has gained a crazy cult following ever since it was created, but now the show has officially won an Emmy for Best Animated Program. Co-creator Justin Roiland shares his achievement on his Twitter:

Rick and Morty had won the Emmy particularly for the episode Pickle Rick. That episode has easily become one of the most viral memes from the third season, and it involves Rick literally turning himself into a pickle and having a mental showdown with a psychiatrist voiced by Susan Sarandon.

Other shows that were nominated include Big Hero 6: The Series, Bob's Burgers, South Park, and The Simpsons.

Though the show may have looked like it got into trouble earlier this year, Rick and Morty has been approved for 70 episodes. We don't know yet how Roiland and his team plan to separate those episodes, but everyone is already excited to see what's in store for the fourth season.

As a fan, I'm happy that we're getting more Rick and Morty, but my concern is that the more episodes are approved, the less the quality of the writing as the show goes on. So far, almost every episode of the show has been a homerun, and even the weakest episodes still manage to have their moments.

We still have no release date for Rick and Morty 4, but a lot of fans are happy to see that the Emmys are recognizing the great work that Roiland and his team have done for the show.
