Aquaman Movie Won't Have Any Air Bubble Conversations

One of the odder creative decisions made in Justice League was the scene where Mera and Aquaman talked to each other in Atlantis. Mera had to make an air bubble so that they could start conversing, which got many fans worried about Jason Momoa's solo spinoff. Director James Wan has addressed the concerns and revealed that there won't be any air bubble talks in the Aquaman movie.

Wan addressed fans on Twitter about the silly scene and assured them that there won't be any air bubble conversations in his film. It's definitely reassuring, even if continuity purists will be a bit displeased with the result. At the least, the actors involved in the film won't have to make an air bubble motion for any of these scenes.

This retcon shouldn't be a deal breaker for fans since conversations should be kept simple in films. Having to CGI air bubbles in every conversation would grow tiresome in the Aquaman film, so this is a great move.

Aquaman is slated for a December 21, 2018, release. Momoa confirmed that a number of scenes with him had been cut from Justice League, including scenes with Willem Dafoe, who was removed from the film entirely. Here's hoping that Arthur Curry's tale is one worth watching.
