'Alien' Sequel Will Ignore The Last 2 Films and Give Ripley "A Proper Ending"

Last week we learned that Neill Blomkamp will officially direct a new Alien movie with James Cameron producting the film. No plot details have been revealed yet but the concept art above teases a concept that Blomkamp might use in the film, and now it sounds like Sigourney Weaver's Ripley and Michael Blehn's Corporeal Hicks will be in the film.

Blomkamp and Weaver were promoting their next film Chappie. During an interview with Sky Movies, Weaver expresses her hope that the new film will give her character Ripley a "proper finish". Blompkamp says that he wants the film to feel like a "genetic sibling" to James Cameron's Aliens, making it clear that it will be a sequel to Aliens and pretending that Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection never existed. "So it's Alien, Aliens, and then this movie," Blompkamp explains. Those two films didn't seem like canon anyways,

Blompkamp is one of the best science fiction directors so I think he'll make this next Alien film great. I'm also excited to see Weaver return as Ripley in the new Alien movie. We'll keep you updated about this project here in Epicstream.
