Woody Harrelson Believes Han Solo Is One Of The Funnier Star Wars Movies

Phil Lord and Chris Miller were said to have been fired from the directing the Han Solo movie because they leaned too much on improvisation and comedy. Woody Harrelson, however, is still onboard, and despite the loss of the directing duo, it looks like the movie will still be full of laughs—more than every other film in the franchise.

In an interview with ET, Harrelson takes time to talk about Alden Ehrenreich, and how he tries to fill-in Harrison Ford's shoes. He says:

"He's a great actor and a great guy, [with a] great sense of humor. I think a lot of humor comes through what he's doing. I think it could be one of the funnier Star Wars movies."

Of course, it's possible that Harrelson was only talking about the scenes he already shot, and with the reshoots going on, Han Solo may end up with a different tone from what was initially intended. As of now, I think it's still safe to say that Ron Howard hasn't produced the final edit of the movie yet. Hopefully we will by the time May 25 comes next year.

In the movie, Harrelson plays a character named Beckett, a criminal who is said to be Han Solo's mentor who brings him into the world of space smuggling. We still have no idea on how much of Harrelson will be in the movie, but hopefully this Beckett is a fun new addition to the world of Star Wars. With Game of Thrones out, I bet everyone is also excited to see who Emilia Clarke is playing in the movie.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to come out May 25, 2018.
