Wonder Woman 2 Aiming to Start Production this Summer

Four movies in, and he DCEU manages to have only Wonder Woman as its solid hit. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the follow-up for the film, and it looks like production is set to start soon.

Talking to ComicBook, DCEU producer Charles Roven explained:

"We're in what I would call development of the screenplay. We finally, I think, have a good story to tell. Not kind of – we do believe we have a good story to tell. And then we're also just moving out of what normally we would call soft prep into hard prep. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime this summer, and hope to have it out by the end of '19."

For now, we don't have an official story description for the film, but with the working title being Magic Hour, a lot of fans are guessing that the villain is going to be magic-user Circe. Some people believe that the antagonist is actually going to be Cheetah, but I think that she could play second fiddle to Circe—what with her affinity for turning humans into animals.

Director Patty Jenkins has said that she wanted this sequel to be a period piece as well, and it will have Diana battling her way through the end of the Cold War. I thought she was wonderfully placed into a WW1 setting, and I would like to see how Diana would be placed in history that's a lot closer the modern generation.

Wonder Woman 2 comes out Nov. 1, 2019.
