Venom Rumor: Tom Holland’s Appearing As Peter Parker Not Spider-Man

Word came out yesterday that Tom Holland's Spider-Man would be appearing in Sony's upcoming Venom movie. The studio might have said that the standalone film was going to be set in a different universe from Holland's webslinger, however, film insider Jon Schnepp "confirmed" that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man would definitely be in Venom.

Now, in a new episode of Collider Heroes, Schnepp decides to take a step back to clarify his Venom report, saying that while Holland might have filmed for at least two days on the set of Sony's upcoming film, it doesn't necessarily mean that Spider-Man's going to be in the movie.

The comic book movie insider says that its more likely that Holland won't be suiting up in the film, appearing only as Peter Parker.

"Tom Holland was on set filming scenes on Venom for at least two days as Peter Parker. Okay, so I'm not saying Spider-Man is in the film. When I say Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in the film, I'm saying Peter Parker is in the film."

Of course, fans have to talk this report with a grain of salt. Schnepp's report hasn't been confirmed by both Marvel and Sony, so it's best that fans don't keep their hopes up too high.

Venom premieres on October 5, 2018.
