The Punisher’s Paris Event Also Canceled After Las Vegas Shootings

Marvel and Netflix might be busy gearing up fans for the premiere of The Punisher, but after tragedy struck Las Vegas last Sunday with a mass shooting at the Lollapalooza music festival, the studios decided to cancel their panel for Jon Bernthal's solo series at this year's New Year Comic-Con.

Now, according to a report by Variety, Marvel and Netflix have also decided to cancel their Paris Event for The Punisher. Apparently, Marvel TV had planned to hold a "Black Night" event at the Paris Cirque d'Hiver theater, screening the first two episodes of the Marvel Netflix superhero series along with a simulcast of the New York Comic Con panel.

But with the panel canceled, it seems like plans for the "Black Night" have been dropped as well, which is such a shame because fans were looking forward to the screenings.

Though it's largely uncertain what Marvel and Netflix had in mind for The Punisher's canceled panel at the New York Comic Con, the series' panel presentation was supposed to run for an hour and half, and many expected interviews with Bernthal and the rest of the series' cast who were going to be present during the panel.

There's no knowing whether Marvel and Netflix will reschedule the panel for some other convention, or whether the studios will opt for publication interviews instead.

The Punisher is scheduled to release sometime 2017.
