The Walking Dead Makes Fun Of The Punisher On Twitter

It might not as much of a surprise to see the Twitter handles of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and IronFist replying to each other's quips in an attempt to prepare for The Defenders, but it is pleasantly surprising to hear that The Punisher's Twitter account has been having some back and forth banter with The Walking Dead.

The two series might not have much in common, but while most Marvel fans know Jon Bernthal as Marvel TV's Frank Castle, but the actor has also been known for his role as The Walking Dead's antagonist, Shane Walsh. Though the character starts off as the longtime friend of the series' protagonist Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), the relationship eventually soured after Walsh formed a relationship with the former sheriff deputy's wife, Lori (Sarah Wayne).

Deciding to troll The Punisher while the highly anticipated Marvel Netflix series continues its marketing campaign, The Walking Dead decided to reply to one of the show's posts asking fans to "Read between the lines."

This little banter between the two different series has gotten fans laughing, declaring the virtual conversation as one of today's winners on the internet. Though the whole exchange doesn't really tell fans that much about the events in The Punisher, it certainly does add color to the series as it reminds everyone about Bernthal's work on The Walking Dead.

The Punisher still doesn't have a specific premiere date, but the series kicks off sometime in 2017.
