The Flash May See a Love & Hate Relationships Brewing

A lot is in store for fans when The Flash returns for the latter part of the season. Not only are we getting another set of consequences like Flashpoint—the team will be trying to change the future—but there will also be a new character coming in.

These are some of the things that co-showrunner Aaron Helbing had shared with TV Line in a recent preview interview on what's to come with The Flash.

"Now that Barry has gotten a glimpse of the future, he will be trying to do whatever it takes to save her. Everybody will play a huge part in that, because Iris is part of the team."

That statement is interesting because it potentially points out two things. One, the bad emotional effects of Flashpoint on the group may not necessarily repeat itself. This time, deliberately changing the future is not only Barry's idea to save his ladylove, but a group decision because she's a valuable member of Team Flash.

And two, the emphasis of everybody may even also include those who aren't part of the team alone. The source hints that Julian (Tom Felton) may even try to help, because he did play a role in the evil speed god's plan.

As far as Team Flash is concerned, the two other core members, Caitlin and Cisco, will have their own love/hate issues to deal with. For Caitlin, it will still be her powers as Killer Frost. With Cisco, it may be with Gypsy, the confirmed addition to the cast. Helbing was coy about stating what exactly her relationship with Cisco will be like.

He did use the words "very strong adversary" but also "someone [Cisco] can't stop thinking about." The next question is, how will Gypsy see Cisco?

The Flash will be back on Jan. 24, Tuesday on The CW.
