The Black Flash, Solovar Land Bigger Roles in DC TV Universe

Two villains first seen in The Flash will be playing bigger roles in the DC TV universe and the series. First up is The Black Flash, who has seen a massive transformation following his run-in with the time wraiths.

Now that he looks more monster than man, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg revealed to CBM that he plays the role of Grim Reaper not only in The Flash, but also in the bigger picture of the DC TV Universe.

The most he can say is that the Black Flash will be seeing him on multiple shows. But from the looks of it, Teddy Sears may not be the actor to play the role because of his commitments to 24: Legacy.

"We have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him around. There's something so scary about him, something even scarier than when he was just the man, because now he is the Grim Reaper, he is the devil. How do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears."

Another awaited villain, this time coming back to The Flash is Gorilla Grodd. The intelligent gorilla is reportedly coming in for a two-episode arc, and according to Deadline, Keith David has already been signed to lend his voice to Solovar, Grodd's nemesis from Gorilla City.

DC has also already confirmed that the Gorilla Grodd-centric episodes are set for the 13th and 14th on the back-half of season 3. With Grodd's season 2 storyline ending in him being sent to Earth 2 in Gorilla Sanctuary, it is possible that a prototype of Gorilla City may be revealed during these episodes as well.

The Flash will be back on The CW on Jan. 24, 8:00 pm.
