The Batman Movie By Matt Reeves Won’t Be About Jason Todd’s Death

Though there hasn't been a lot of production talk for Matt Reeve's The Batman during the past few weeks, rumors began spreading online that the filmmaker's script for the DC film would focus on Bruce Wayne trying to deal with the death of Jason Todd.

While Ben Affleck picking up the cowl to play Batman in Reeve's Dark Knight movie remains to be seen, there have been early indications that the director plans to take fans to Batman's story before Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Knowing that Jason Todd's death was well established by BvS, it isn't entirely surprising to find rumors saying that The Batman would explore Batman's life after Robin's passing. However, according to The Wrap, an insider with knowledge of The Batman has decided to set the record straight, saying that the film won't center around Batman post-Jason Todd.

For those who aren't that familiar with the character, Jason Todd is Batman's second Robin, the one who joins the Dark Knight after Dick Grayson decides to join the Teen Titans. Todd's death at the hands of the Joker in the infamous Death in the Family comic book storyline is one of the most iconic deaths in the DC comic book franchise, and there were some hoping to see the story explored in The Batman.

Guess fans will just have to wait and see what Reeves has cooking for us.

The Batman doesn't have a release date yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
