Superman's Appearance In The New Justice League Trailer Is A Reference To The Original Movie

With Henry Cavill's Superman being absent in most of the promotional material for Justice League, it was great to finally see him in the latest trailer for the movie. As it turns out, the clothes he's wearing in Lois' dream is a reference to the original Richard Donner Superman.

As SuperBroMovies puts it:

Initially, a lot of people thought it was the Flash who was paying homage to Superman in his civilian outfit, but as it turns out, even Clark Kent can be seen wearing the red checkered pattern in the film—albeit it's only in Lois' dream.

With Superman's appearance being a mystery for the movie, a lot of fans think that he'll be donning his black costume as per his resurrection in the comics. With Marvel heroes getting a new outfit every movie, it would actually be nice to see the DC heroes have a change in wardrobe as well.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
