Stranger Things & Arrival Team is Doing a New Sci-fi Movie

Shawn Levy and 21 Laps are at it again, this time for a new film that delves into the sci-fi and drama genres. The Stranger Things producer and his company are diving into an adaptation for Inconstant Moon, a short story from Larry Niven, who is something of a personality in the sci-fi genre.

And unlike Stranger Things' rather 80s vibe, Inconstant Moon will examine a love story of sorts in an apocalyptic setup. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the short story's setting takes place on Earth over the span of a night. It will examine the relationship of a couple as they contemplate where they are amid an ending world.

The details are scarce, especially if you haven't read the short story yet. As for production, James Ponsoldt has been signed to direct the film, while Daniel Casey will write the script. As usual, Arrival and Stranger Things' Levy and Dan Cohen from 21 Laps will produce the film.

This is undoubtedly an interesting follow-up to Arrival, another one of 21 Laps' projects and a big hit at the upcoming Academy Awards with eight nominations.

The plot of Inconstant Moon is pretty interesting, and giving a sci-fi spin to a romance is always an interesting way to get me into a good love story.
