Star Wars Virtual Reality Game ‘Trials on Tatooine’ To Debut In Celebration Europe 2016

The first trailer of ILMxLab's virtual reality Star Wars game experiment, Trials on Tatooine, was released back in March.

Aside from the fact that the game looks awesome and that it could pave the way for more rocking virtual reality Star Wars games in the future, no other details about Trials on Tatooine were provided at the time. As such, fans were in the dark as to when and how the game could be played.

Well, Lucasfilm has just announced that Trials on Tatooine is coming to Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 next month!

In fact, attendees of the convention will be the first people to try the virtual reality experience for themselves. The game will place gamers in the role of a Jedi Padawan sent to a desert planet in search of the Millennium Falcon.

ILMxLAB will be setting up a room-scale VR installation that uses HTC Vive at London's ExCel Centre.

Not only that, a few of the game's key creators will appear in a special panel during Celebration Europe to offer fans an in-depth look of Trials on Tatooine.

The Star Wars Show hosts Peter and Andi also announced the game's first outing on the YouTube show's latest episode, where they experienced the game for themselves teasing fans what the experience will be like at Celebration.

In recent weeks, Lucasfilm has also announced new Star Wars video games, a pin trading program, and a podcast stage lineup that fans can enjoy during the convention. Big names in the franchise will also be appearing at Celebration, including Dave Filoni to debut the first two episodes of Star Wars Rebels Season 3, Warwick Davis, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, as well as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards.

The convention is packed with exciting experiences, I hope there's some way for fans who can't attend to enjoy the Celebration some other way too.

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 will be held at London's ExCel Centre from July 15 to 17.
