Star Wars: Vader Immortal Gets Brand-New Story Details From ‘Dark Knight’ Writer

Star Wars: Vader Immortal has been one of the most hyped-up VR games coming out, a lot of which has to do with playing as the bad man himself. Vader has always been one of the more interesting villains in media so it's easy to see why people would want to play as the former Jedi master. David S. Goyer, who wrote The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, and Batman V Superman, has decided to unveil new details about the game.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Goyer stated that the game was an interesting opportunity to explore what Vader is like when he isn't slaughtering millions for The Empire. It seems like the game will make players get to know Vader in another level, maybe even in ways that the prequel films didn't explore (which isn't too hard).

"I raised a question, ‘What does Vader do when he's not Force-choking people?' What does he do when he walks into his meditation chamber, and his shoulders slump, and he doesn't have the weight of the Empire on him for that moment? What does he think about?"

With the game having episodic installments, it seems like Vader Immortal is going to be a fairly lengthy series that could be great for Star Wars fans. VR games have gotten a better reputation in recent years so let's hope this will be one of the better Star Wars ones in recent memory.

Volume I of Star Wars: Vader Immortal will be coming to Oculus Rift on May 21.
