Star Wars: The Last Jedi Novel Explains The Film's Timeline Better

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was easily the most complex film in the franchise, introducing plenty of new things about The Force that has divided fans. It's not a perfect film however and it has its fair share of flaws, though some have been overly harsh about them. Interestingly enough, the novelization has done a good job of fixing some of the film's plot holes or simply explaining a few things that needed them.

Apparently, one of them was the amount of time that would progress in the film. Considering how the film is framed, it seems like Rey's training happens at the same time as the adventures of Finn and Rose. Thankfully, the novelization explains how time passes by much better than the film does.

Rey's stay in Ach-To is one that fans constantly argue about. Some felt that the film makes it seem like her stay on the abandoned planet with Luke Skywalker only felt like a day or two had passed. The novel reveals that Rey's stay in Ach-To was closer to a week and the routine of Luke happens in the span of days, not hours like the film seemingly frames it.

It's not the worst thing about the film's story but the additional information is nice and gives the epic tale more room to breathe. Fans that haven't already should pick up the novel of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Fans of the film can get it now digitally, while Blu-Ray owners can get it on March 27.
