Jabba The Hutt Rumored To Appear In Solo: A Star Wars Story

Solo: A Star Wars Story might not have much in terms of promotional material despite being just a few months away from its release, but there's been a lot of talk running around the rumor mill and word has it that a popular Star Wars baddie is going to make his to the Han Solo standalone movie.

Last year word had it that Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Quinlan Vos might appear in Solo: A Story.

Now a new rumor says that a villain closely tied to everyone's favorite smuggler is going to pop up in the movie. According to the Dork Side of the Force, a source says Lucasfilm is planning to bring Jabba to Solo: A Star Wars Story.

"Fans will learn why Han ended up owing him so much money," the unnamed source says.

Aside from the unnamed source, the publication also claims that Academy Award-winning visual effects artists Ben Morris from Star Wars: The Last Jedi also threw Jabba's name into the ring of possible villains appearing in Solo, saying that "Jabba the Hutt would be a good guess. If I say any more I will get into trouble."

Jabba's appearance does seem likely. After all, the slimy slug-like gangster and Han Solo seem to go a long way back. However, while fans know that the two do have history, fans ought to remember that these reports remain rumors until Lucasfilm gives a confirmation. Take everything with a grain of salt till proven true.

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres May 25, 2017.
