Star Wars Palparey Pairing Makes Us All Shudder

It looks like Star Wars fans campaigning for Reylo have some competition.

Star Wars fans might have been pairing Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) ever since the two came across each other in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but now it looks like a new pairing is on the rise – one between the Jakku Orphan and the resurrected Emperor Palpatine.

According to CBR, Palparey discussions have begun making the rounds online. The idea of Rey getting together with Star Wars wrinkled bag of Dark Side evil can make anyone retch, but apparently, the pairing doesn't necessarily have to mean that there's going to be consummation between the characters (unless there are fans that like to rock that kind of boat). The pairing could center around Palpatine usurping Rey's power by offering the Star Wars heroine an offer she just can't refuse. It doesn't sound that unlikely, given the Dark Rey vision that Lucasfilm featured in one of the trailers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Besides, Palpatine has had a history of seducing others to the Dark Side.

One of the most popular examples is Anakin Skywalker, the "Chosen One" that eventually sways and becomes Darth Vader. We can imagine the Sith Lord trying to do the same with Rey, a beautiful and powerful young Light Side Force user who's still trying to find her place in Star Wars' galaxy far, far away.
