Star Wars: Episode IX Looking For Actors And Extras

It looks like Lucasfilm is looking for extras for its final sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: Episode IX.

According to a report by Movie Casting Call, Episode IX is currently searching for actors and extras as Lucasfilm prepares for the film's production next year. Apparently casting directors are currently in the process of setting up auditions for actors in new lead and supporting roles for Episode IX with principal photography taking place at London's Pinewood Studios and other surrounding areas.

Though fans are open to taking a shot at joining the auditions, the report tells interested parties that "all talent must have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in London and in the United Kingdom."

Meanwhile, it seems like the lead and supporting roles of Episode IX are mostly being cast "through talent agents in Los Angeles, New York, and London."

Seemingly confirming the start of the film's principal photography in January next year, the report contradicts last week's news that Episode IX's production would be pushed back to June 2017 after Lucasfilm handed over the Star Wars sequel trilogy installment to J.J. Abrams.

The Force Awakens director had been chosen to replace the film's original helmsman, Colin Trevorrow. Lucasfilm had found it hard to work with the Jurassic World director, and the studio decided to cut the filmmaker off the project over "creative differences."

It's been a wild year for Lucasfilm's projects, but fans can now rest easy with Abrams on board.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, on the other hand, hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
