Spider-Man 3 Star Marisa Tomei Teases Aunt May's New Role in MCU Sequel

We already know that Tom Holland will be back in Spider-Man 3. But what can we expect from Marisa Tomei in the still-untitled sequel? The Spider-Man: Far From Home actress has just teased that Aunt May is set for a bigger role in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

In Far From Home, Aunt May only appeared briefly and it was even suggested that she had started dating Happy Hogan. However, at the end of the film, May pointed out that it wasn't serious. Although there might not be another romance for the character in Spider-Man 3, Tomei admitted to Screenrant that May will be more visible as someone who is helping the community.

"Well, I've had her - [director] Jon Watts and I always talked about her being a community organizer," Tomei said. "And hopefully that track will expand and be part of this one, as well."

We're loving this idea considering that May has always been portrayed as a nurturing character but mostly towards Peter Parker. It isn't hard to imagine May being a strong woman who just wants to help rebuild the community after the events in Far From Home.

For now, it is unclear when the third Spider-Man film will begin production. However, there have been reports that the movie could start filming by the end of the year.

Spider-Man 3 has not yet been given an official title. However, the sequel is already expected to premiere on November 5, 2021.
