Sherlock Manga to Continue With 4th Run This Year


Sherlock is on a roll. Following the very successful launch of the awaited fourth season episode, The Six Thatchers, as well as the funny coincidence of lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's shared lineage, another branch of the franchise has some good news to fans.

According to Anime News Network, those who want to read BBC's Sherlock series in manga form can rejoice, because A Scandal in Belgravia (Belgravia no Shubun) episode will be drawn for the March issue of the Young Ace magazine of Kadokawa.

Essentially, this episode introduces the manga into the second season of the Sherlock series. it will also be the first time when we'll be seeing The Woman a.k.a. Irene Adler, who gave Sherlock the challenge of his life.

The manga adaptation of Sherlock has already seen the episodes A Study in Pink, The Blink Banker, and The Great Game in print in 2012, 2013, and 2014 respectively. Considering how fans are following the series loyally, it won't be a surprise if Kadokawa will continue to roll out the manga series as well.

For English readers, the Sherlock comics by mangaka Jay will be released by Titan Comics. So far, the company has released a six-issue run of the first two adaptations with plans for the third one (and possibly the fourth) as well.
