Robert Pattinson Somehow Predicted He Would Become Batman

Back in 2010, nobody probably expected that the actor who played a sparkly vampire would eventually become a frontrunner to portray the new Caped Crusader. However, it looks like Robert Pattinson knew all along that he would be called in to play Batman even while he was working on Twilight.

Pattinson is one of the stars who recorded a DVD commentary for the film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In the commentary, the Harry Potter actor joked about a scene where Edward scares Bella Swan by using a deep voice. He then drops the line, "I'm Batman" using a deep voice. You can listen to the audio recording below.

Well, he still needs to work on that Batman voice but it looks like Pattinson is already halfway there. He is reportedly the top choice to take on the role of the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' new DC film. However, there's still one obstacle standing in his way. Tolkien star Nicholas Hoult is also being considered for the role but we should get an update really soon.

Although the reaction to Pattinson being cast as Batman has been mostly positive, that doesn't mean that everyone is happy about the Rover actor playing the DC comic book hero. It was previously reported that several petitions have already been launched asking Warner Bros. to replace Pattinson in Reeves' movie. One of the petitions even recommended that the studio should cast Armie Hammer instead for the role.

The Batman casting has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates on who will take on the role of the Caped Crusader.
