Production For Bryan Singer's Bohemian Rhapsody Halted Due To A 'Personal Health Matter'

Bryan Singer is taking a break from the X-Men universe to direct a biopic on legendary rock band Queen. The movie is called Bohemian Rhapsody and stars Mr. Robot's Rami Malek as the electrifying Freddie Mercury. Production was underway, but Twentieth Century Fox has put the movie on hold.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox had to stop production for the film due to Singer's ‘unexpected availability.' Fox's statement goes:

Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer.

A statement from Singer's representative also said that the absence was due to, ""a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family."

THR reports that Singer was not able to come back to the set after Thanksgiving, and there has also been claims that Singer would clash with main actor Malek. Speculation is going crazy to what could lead Singer to be unavailable, and some think that a new story is about to hit where Singer will be accused once more of sexual abuse.

Back in 2014, Singer was sued by actor Michael Egan III who claimed that he was drugged and forced into "sex parties" by Singer when he was 15. This also isn't the first accusation that has been directed at Singer.

Whether it truly is a health issue, it's said that Fox is currently scrambling to find a replacement director. After the fiasco with Joss Whedon taking over Justice League, I wonder if Bohemian Rhapsody could survive this kind of shake-up.
