Pokemon Go Announces Adventure Week Event

Niantic Labs may be sticking to its guns for as long as it can. Now that events are mostly the reason why Pokemon Go players go back to the game, the developer is maximizing a lot of its efforts into delivering new events regardless of the season.

Now, there's a new event set to start this week, and it's called Adventure Week. In the newest blog post, the developer acknowledged what the trainers were able to achieve back in December.

And perhaps in an attempt to pull players back into the game, they're inviting players to step out yet again and journey all over the streets during Adventure Week, starting May 18 until May 25.

During this week, players will be awarded with more items in every PokeStop. Candies via Buddy Pokemon will also earn a lot faster, with Candy finding set at four times the pace for the entire event. Best of all, we find another type of ‘mon that's easier to catch:

"Whether you're exploring your neighborhood or an exotic new location, make sure to watch for Rock-type Pokemon such as Omanyte, Kabuto, and their Evoutions. Keep an eye out—maybe you'll even spot Aerodactyl!"

Lastly, there's another avatar item that fans can use: the Explorer's Hat. This way, just like the Magikarp Hat, Niantic Labs is trying to get you all geared up (literally!) and ready to go outside.

My only peeve with this event is that the specified 'mons with bonuses are unbelievably few. Granted, it did say Rock types, which are different from Ground types, but it would be such a waste if we weren't given the chance to get as many Onyx, Rhyhorn, and Geodude at least when we can.
