Paul Bettany Reveals A Little About His Character In Solo: A Star Wars Story

With Ron Howard taking over reshoots for the Han Solo spinoff movie, Paul Bettany has been cast in a small role in the film. We don't know any specific details about who he's playing, but Bettany gives us a good idea on who his character is when we meet him in the movie.

During an appearance at the Rhode Island Comic-Con (via Adventures in Poor Taste), Bettany confirms:

"You know, obviously, I'm a very cool intergalactic gangster."

A lot of speculation is saying that Bettany's character is filling in for the role of Michael K. Williams who was unable to reshoot his part due to his busy schedule. Williams' original character was supposed to be half-animal, and it was said that he would have a close relationship with Emilia Clarke's character Kura. With Bettany onboard, things are sure to change, but we'll have to wait for the movie to see how exactly everything plays out.

Reactions for a Han Solo spinoff has been divisive among fans, but it seems that Lucasfilm is very pleased with what Ron Howard has brought to the movie. With the film expected to release early next year, we should expect our first teaser for Solo to come out before the year ends—possibly connected to the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to come out May 25, 2018.
