New 'Shining' Pokemon Cards Will Be Incredibly Rare

There's going to be a new special batch of Pokemon cards that will be incredibly rare, and they will be a part of the next mini-expansion called Shining Legends.

The new Pokemon Trading Card set will be out in United States and Europe in October, and the set will only 80 different cards, and the rarest of them all are called "Shining" cards that have special foil designs and feature artwork with alternate coloration of Pokemon.

PokeBeach.com, a site focused on keeping track on Pokemon Trading Card news and products, reported that the rate of getting a "Shining" card is 1 out of 15 packs. That's about the same probability as a Mythic Rare in Magic: The Gathering.

The Shining Cards will most likely be five times rarer as "ultra rare" cards like Full-Art cards, Rainbow Rare and GX cards, so they'll probably be worth a lot more in the re-sale market.

Players won't even be able to buy individual booster packs in stores as Shining Legends boosters will only be available in special box collections that will have an MSRP of around $13.

The Shining Legends expansion will be available for sale on October 6, 2017.
