Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime Pays Tribute To Pokemon Red and Blue

The Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon anime have been heavy on the nostalgia lately. Misty and Brock recently returned to the series, the latter of whom now has a rocking set of abs. We've also seen some of Ash's older Pokemon, which a lot of fans really enjoyed. As if nostalgia from the older anime wasn't enough, the new series also pays tribute to Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue.

During battles they partook in, Brock and Misty struck poses that were very similar to their static images from Red and Blue. Brock's pose is a little more authentic to the games, with him being shirtless adding to the nostalgia. Misty simply rocks her pose in her classic attire, instead of the swimsuit we see her wearing in the Game Boy titles.

It's been a nice trip down memory lane for veteran Pokemon fans, though that's bound to end soon. Next week, Ash and Lillie will be going on a new adventure, with the Aether Foundation involved somehow. It will be interesting to see if the anime starts to follow the plot of the two games, or goes off in its own direction.

Fans of the anime have Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for the 3DS on November 17. Old-school fans can also get Pokemon Red and Blue on the 3DS eShop, as well as Gold and Silver.
