Morena Baccarin Responds To Clamor For Copycat Evolution in Deadpool 2

Wade Wilson's (Ryan Reynolds) relationship with scrappy escort Vanessa (Morena Baccarin)was one of the central focuses of Deadpool and while the two reunited happily in the film, fan's aren't certain what becomes of the two in the upcoming sequel to the succesful R-Rated superhero movie.

Now, in an interview with Cinema Blend, Baccarin reveals what could happen to Vanessa and her relationship with Wade now that she knows that the fiancée she believed to be dead is a mutant superhero.

"I would love to see the evolution of [Copycat], and how she becomes that. I also think it's very interesting to see the relationship with her and Wade after the whole thing. His whole demeanor changing. And just how they continue their relationship."

There's also been a lot of hope that Vanessa would eventually transform into the hero Copycat, the shape shifting, power-mimicking mutant member of the X-force in Marvel comics. Though the live-action Deadpool film adaptation really didn't feature her as a mutant, fans really want to see her evolve into the hero in the sequel. This is Baccarin's take:

"Obviously everyone wants to see Copycat. I have no idea if that's something they have in the works or not."

It's such a shame that there isn't any official confirmation on Vanessa's transformation. However, with Baccarin down for the evolution and fans demanding to see Copycat, there's no reason for Marvel Entertainment and 20th Century Fox to hold out, especially since they're building up the X-Force.
