Marvel Comics Releases A Batch Of Rock-Inspired Variant Covers

Marvel may be getting most of its attention from the top-notch movies they've been pumping out, but everyone seems to forget that there's also a section of the company that still pumps out good ol' fashion comic books.

Check out the cool variant covers (via CBR):

Guardians of the Galaxy #9/Nevermind by Nirvana

Mighty Thor #23/London Calling by The Clash

X-Men Blue #11/Parallel Lines by Blondie

Inhumans: Once and Future Kings/Apetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses

If you haven't checked them out yet, there's also a bunch of covers parodying hip-hop albums, and they look just as good.

These variant covers were made to sell more comics, and depending on how these do, Marvel will probably keep releasing some other variant album covers. How cool would it be to have the Abbey Road cover with the Guardians of the Galaxy walking on it, or Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland with the beautiful ladies of Marvel?

These covers come out September, so get them when you can.
