Magic: The Gathering pro player Ben Stark has shared his opinion about the Mythic Championship London disqualification of Yuuya Watanabe for having marked sleeves.
During his Magic: The Gathering Arena livestream on Twitch, the American Magic Pro League member talked about Yuuya's disqualification and the ridiculousness of the conspiracy theories some people brought up to defend the Japanese Hall of Famer.

"I think conspiracy theories like the judge set him up are ridiculous. The fact that 3 out of each 4 Tron lands are marked makes it more likely in my opinion because that's what a smart cheat would do to make it look like they're not marking their Tron lands. Because the point is if you know when you're drawing your Tron lands, that's incredibly useful but it's not like you have to know," Stark said. "Marking 3 out of the 4 is exactly what I would expect a smart cheat would do, and the judges did not mark his sleeves. I'm not afraid to say it. I respected Yuuya for 10 years until the last Pro Tour and I no longer do. I believe that he's just a career premeditated cheater."
Japanese pro player Yuuki Ichikawa and other players have also shared his thoughts about Yuuya disqualification with some defending the player and others like Ben Stark saying how he's a big cheater despite having no reputation of cheating before.
Cygames, Yuuya's sponsor, has published a statement from Yuuya sharing a detailed account of his experience at the Mythic Championship II: London but according to Wizards of the Coast, the Magic Pro League is still investigating the infraction.
