Magic: The Gathering Arena Potentially Heading To Mobile

Magic: The Gathering Arena has been a huge success for Wizards of the Coast's popular card game so far, and while it's only currently available for the PC, fans are wondering if the digital card game will also be released for Mac or mobile. A recent job posting hints that MTG Arena is potentially coming to mobile.

Dailyesports recently pointed out a job posting for the position of Senior Software Engineering Lead on the Wizards of the Coast website. It looks like the job posting has already been taken down now but according to Dailyesports, here are the qualifications of the job listing for the ideal candidate:

> Game development experience with multiple platforms (Windows, iOS, Andriod, etc.)

> Unity development (Unity is the engine in which Arena is built) and mobile development are a plus

It looks like Wizards of the Coast are finding ways to make Magic more accessible to mobile users. Although there's no solid confirmation that they're working on a mobile version of MTG Arena, the job offer clearly reveals that they're looking for a mobile developer. It could be for an upcoming game based on the lore of Magic: The Gathering called Valor's Reach but I wouldn't be surprised if it's for Arena since the mobile market is booming.

Hasbro nor Wizards of the Coast have announced if Arena is coming to mobile but last month, an image surfaced on Reddit showing a photo of a phone with MTG Arena on its screen.

Arena coming to mobile would be great news to the MTG community. A mobile client for the game would blow away its competition, Hearthstone, which has already been in decline in recent years.
