The relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn is an abusive one, plain and simple. While Suicide Squad barely brought this up, those that grew up with Batman: The Animated Series knows this to be true. Turns out Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie agrees with this, hinting that the DCEU might follow up on this soon.
Robbie told Bang Showbiz that she wants the relationship to "end in flames," which is a perfectly sane answer. Some fans are into the "romance" aspect of the relationship, which is disturbing to say the least. Hearing a sane answer from Robbie is nice and it will be interesting to see how these two characters go through this in the DCEU.
Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are expected to reprise their roles as the two characters in a Joker and Harley Quinn movie. Both characters are also expected to appear in a Suicide Squad sequel, as well as the Gotham City Sirens spinoff film. That is a lot of Joker and Harley, plus the lack of Batman in these movies is fairly intriguing.
It's not clear when we will see these two characters again, though fans can assume it will be a good while after the Justice League movie. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we see these two clowning around.
