Jared Leto Makes The ‘World Stop’ When He Steps Onto The Suicide Squad Set As The Joker

Ever since the first Suicide Squad trailer was released, Jared Leto's take on The Joker had become the most intriguing and controversial of all (maybe aside from Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn). Many were eager to see what the Academy Award winning actor will be able to bring to the movie and the character itself.

More intrigue came when several Suicide Squad cast members revealed Leto's crazy surprises on set, such as giving the cast a dead pig and sending Margot Robbie a black rat.

Now, it's been revealed that it's not only the movie's cast who's affected by Leto's antics as The Joker on set. Apparently, even the crew gets entranced by the 44-year-old actor.

In fact, Suicide Squad director David Ayer told Total Film (via DCVertigoDaily) that people on the film's set are so entranced that "everything stops" whenever the Dallas Buyers Club star steps on set.

What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he's done is so powerful, so menacing, and so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he's so fascinating.

Based on Ayer's own words, it's fitting to assume that Leto will undoubtedly present an entirely new and frightening version of The Joker to Suicide Squad. The actor has been known to perform bizarre roles in the past, and just like The Joker, he captures people's attention whenever he walks into a room.

Fortunately, Leto was the actor hosen to play the iconic role. Former portrayals – Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, and Heath Ledger – had all become iconic in their own unique respect. Leto has a lot to live up to, and based on his previous movie roles and the testimonies of the Suicide Squad cast, I believe he can pull it off.

I can't wait to see Leto's take on The Joker once the movie hits theaters on August 5.
