Here’s How Thor: Ragnarok & Guardians of the Galaxy Can be Tied Together

How deeply interwoven the MCU individual movies, heroes, and stories are just keep on surprising us even in the little things.

The latest is in the confirmation that The Collector, previously encountered by the Guardians, actually ties in with another being that will appear in an upcoming MCU solo film. Fans like me who've put the Thor: Ragnarok trailer on repeat already know that Jeff Goldblum's character is one quirky dude—but as The Grandmaster, his presence has more meaning than just a spectator in Thor and Hulk's fight.

Speaking to Cinema Blend, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige confirmed that two of them are connected very well—they're brothers in the MCU after all, just as they are in the comics.

"We had footage of just Goldblum dancing and thought it would be fun to put it in there. And as you know from the comics, he's The Collector's brother. Keep an eye out at a particular theme park attraction opening soon, you'll get to see a little crossover… It's just a fun thing."

This is actually the reason why Goldblum's Grandmaster had some form of cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's credits. Both Taneleer Tivan and En Dwi Gast are Elders of the Universe, and there's speculation that their relationship will play out in the MCU somehow—starting with the awaited Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout attraction in DisneyLand.

For now, check out Goldblum's wacky character in Thor: Ragnarok, heading to cinemas on Nov. 3.
