Gotham’s Jerome is Here and He’s a Franken-carnation of Joker

As if the freaky incarnation isn't enough, Gotham is bringing back Jerome in a way that reaches new heights as far as psychoticism is concerned.

In a new Gotham teaser, seen below, we see Jerome looking even more menacing, thanks to the stitches that potentially brought him back to life.

Cameron Monaghan's Jerome has been one of the most anticipated characters to return to the show. But when he does, he will be—but also won't be—the Jerome that fans have known back in the last season.

While he already had a sadistic and odd side back then, Gotham Executive Producer John Stephens revealed to TV Guide that he is an altered version of that person.

"It's the same Jerome, but altered. He's not as nice as he was before. Someone who has basically gone through death and come back to life has a very different point of view. He also has a grander point of view. It's altered how he is. It's odd to say he's more psychotic than he was before."

How they will make that last part happen, I'm all eyes and ears to know. Though it's questionable to even say that he was nice before, when we all know the deeds he was capable of as part of the Maniax.

Jerome will be back in Gotham for a three-episode arc, starting with the Ghosts episode. Apart from creeping the hell out of fans, Jerome will also be starting a series of events that involves Batman, and what could be the first few bricks in the foundation between the Joker and Batman rivalry.

Here's a quick recap of what Ghosts season 3 episode 12 will be all about when Gotham returns:

"Falcone places a hit on Gordon after learning that he shot Mario. Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan), who plans to bring him back to life. Meanwhile, Penguin spirals out of control before the biggest television interview of his Mayoral career, and Bruce and Selina deal with Selina's mom's return to Gotham."

Gotham airs Mondays at 8 pm on FOX. It stars Ben McKenzie, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith, Donal Logue, Morena Baccarin, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
