Gotham Season 3 Synopsis and New Promo Reveals Mad City and Killer Croc First Look

Gotham is looking a lot more chaotic as the new season draws closer.

Fox has finally released the synopsis for the new season, and from the looks of it, the madness just begins with newcomer Mad Hatter. There will be monster and some familiar faces, all of whom are ready to contribute to the new dark side to Gotham—as if it wasn't dark already.

"Gotham works in a monster-ridden Gotham as a bounty hunter and seeks to find answers about the Indian Hill escapees and why their powers appear to be killing them. Meanwhile, Bruce's doppelganger roams the streets and Barbara and Tabitha open a new nightclub called The Sirens in the all-new ‘Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell…'"

Everyone knows that Mad Hatter will be one of the new villains, but following how the last season ended, there will be more monsters coming in. And one of them may be the Killer Croc, as we can see in the new Gotham season 3 promo spot.

It doesn't help that Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) seems to have given up his duty as the righteous policeman that he used to be. It's interesting how this turn of events also brings to mind how his rather domestic life with Dr. Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) ended last season.

Of course, Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot (Robin Taylor) is still there. We see a new glimpse of Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) and Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) seem to be bent on raising a different kind of hell.

It's going to be an interesting season for Gotham, especially since Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is planning something where "there's no turning back" for him. And his doppelganger counterpart is looking to be every bit the villain that he might be this season.

Gotham season 3 will be back on Sept. 19 on Fox.
