Game of Thrones’ Kingslayer Weighs in on Popular Fan Theory

Since the teaser images for Game of Thrones exploded the Internet, new theories have also been created with different characters in the spotlight.

Much like her position in the Seven Kingdoms, Queen Cersei is one of those who have been central to the theories. With the occasional word from stars on what they think of the theories, we don't really have much to go on in supporting or debunking certain theories.

At least Jaime actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did give a few insights to Harper's Bazaar regarding what's next for the Kingslayer. Granted, Coster-Waldau is busy with his own thing, portraying the role of Joe Denton. But that doesn't mean that he won't have time to go back to his very intriguing and controversial character, Jaime Lannister.

While promoting Small Crimes, the Lannister actor shared his thoughts on the circulating theory that Jaime will be the one to kill Cersei in Game of Thrones.

"I heard that theory, and it absolutely makes sense. It would be a little perfect nod. But who knows? You'll have to watch the show [laughs]. It's a good theory. I always thought maybe it's too neat, but who knows."

Based on our experience, HBO doesn't really put obvious twists in Game of Thrones, so if Coster-Waldau can say something like that, it's likely that the writers will not really do this particular move.

But it would be interesting to see where exactly they'll take the role of Jaime, especially since he has always been a far more interesting character away from his twin' side. That look he gave his sister during the parting moments of the sixth season was too poignant for things to just go back the way they were.

Game of Thrones will be back on HBO this July.
