Dragon Ball Fighter Z First Trailer & Closed Beta Date Announced

Dragon Ball fans can look forward to a new fighting game coming out next year. Bandai Namco has confirmed and officially announced Dragon Ball FighterZ at the E3 2017 event.

The game combines classic 2D fighting game mechanics with the characters of Dragon Ball. Developed by Arc System Works, Dragon Ball FighterZ will introduce spectacular fights with equally powerful fighters that follow in the footsteps of the Xenoverse titles.

According to the press release from Bandai Namco, Dragon Ball FighterZ will make use of anime graphics and fighting gameplay mechanics such as 3 v 3 tag and combos during fights.

"The Dragon Ball franchise is tailor suited for the fighting game genre, and Dragon Ball FighterZ will be the next exciting addition to a long history of great fighting games. Arc System Works brings a pedigree and record of quality that fighting game fans can trust; with awesome visuals players might mistake as actual 2D animation from the famed Dragon Ball series."

So far, six characters have already been announced for the game, and they're all the obviously known fighters in the universe. The lineup includes Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Frieze, and Majin Buu.
