Disney Decides to Release Star Wars: The Last Jedi Earlier In The U.K.


It looks like Star Wars fans over at the U.K. are in for a treat.

According to a report by the Radio Times, Disney has just announced that it's opening Star Wars: The Last Jedi a day ahead of its original December 15 release date, allowing fans in Britain to enjoy the film ahead of most places around the world, including the U.S.

This may slightly upset Star Wars fans over stateside, however, with all that the UK's been through the past few weeks, it seems like fans might need this small treat. Besides, with The Force Awakens and Rogue One hitting cinemas a day before the films released in the US back during their respective theatrical runs, it isn't surprising to hear that Lucasfilm plans to do the same for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Fans should also know that the U.K. release is not the earliest premiere of the highly anticipated sequel to The Force Awakens ­The Last Jedi hits cinemas on December 13 in France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

While the release date announcement doesn't reveal anything juicy about the upcoming Star Wars film, it is something that fans may want to keep in mind when waiting for the film. Spoilers are bound to flood on the internet because of overly-excited fans who get to see films earlier than everyone else.
