Earlier today, it's been heavily rumored how Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is having to do reshoots after Disney execs didn't like director Gareth Edwards' initial cut of the first stand-alone film from the franchise. As such, Disney is reportedly in a crisis, especially since the movie is only 200 days away from its release.
While seemingly alarming, all these details remain rumors. However, it seems like a recent interview with Donnie Yen with Orient Daily (translated by Jayne Stars), may have just confirmed those rumors.
Asked whether he'll be spending Father's Day with his kids, the Hong Kong action superstar answered:
I can't. My wife and I will be flying to Japan in two days for a project. After that, I'll be flying all over the place for some more work. I'm going to have to go back to London soon too, to do some additional photography for Rogue One.
It's worth noting that the interview came out yesterday and rumors of the reshoot have started only today. That means the "crisis" with the reshoots could be another media fodder on sensationalist news. In any case, reshoots are common in any movie filming, and with Rogue One appearing to be in its final stages of production, the schedules of the film's cast and crew will definitely be packed.
Most likely any question regarding those reshoots will be answered at Star Wars Celebration Europe, where Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and director Gareth Edwards will be appearing for a Rogue One panel.
