Demon Slayer Season 2 Casts Death Note Star as Douma

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 has come to an end but the final episode gave fans another awesome character to look forward to in the future. In Episode 18, Gyutaro and Daki's backstory was finally revealed and it was confirmed that it was not Muzan Kibutsuji who turned them into demons. Instead, it was an Upper Moon demon named Douma and the original Upper Rank Six was played by a legendary Death Note voice actor!

It has just been confirmed that Demon Slayer Season 3 is already in the works and will adapt the Swordsmith Village arc of the manga. In addition to the first key visual for the third season, the cast of the Season 2 finale was revealed, confirming that Mamoru Miyano played Douma in Episode 18.

In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 18, Gyutaro reminisced his human life with Daki whose real name was Ume. It was confirmed that Gyutaro was tormented by other people his whole life so he wanted to make things better for his beautiful younger sister.

When Ume attacks a samurai and is burned alive, Gyutaro swiftly avenges her but not before he is injured by the man. He tries to get help for himself and his sister but nobody comes to their aid except a demon who offers to turn them into demons like himself. The demon, who was then the Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki, wondered if the two would eventually join their ranks.

Miyano is certainly the perfect actor to play Douma with his clear and seductive voice. He is known for his roles as Light Yagami in Death Note, Shuu Tsukiyama in Tokyo Ghoul, Kei Nagai in Ajin: Demi-Human, and Osamu Dazai in Bungo Stray Dogs.

It is still unclear if Miyano will return as Douma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
