DC Producer Thinks Running the DCEU is a Job Too Much for One Person

Charles Roven had been attached as producer for DC movies from Justice League, all the way back to The Dark Knight, and thanks to the DCEU shake-up, he has found himself attached as producer only to sequels of the movies he helped with. Roven himself doesn't think this is a bad idea, and explains the difficulty of his position back in the earlier days of the DCEU.

Talking to Deadline, Roven explains:

"I think my role for the moment is to focus on those sequels but, you know, a couple of years ago, I was a producer on all of the Justice League movies and their individual heroes movies, but it became very clear that in order to be a producer on those movies in the timeline that Warner Bros. wanted, it was way too big a job for one producer to oversee."

For now, Warner Bros has hired a new DC head in the form of producer Walter Hamada. He will be running the cinematic universe alongside Geoff Johns who has taken a backseat in order to focus on the other aspects of DC Entertainment i.e. the comics.

As of now, Warner Bros is looking to be more careful with the DCEU franchise, with only Aquaman being the DC movie set to come out this year. There are a whole bunch of DC movies set to come out like Green Lantern Corps and Suicide Squad 2, but only Shazam! and Wonder Woman 2 have confirmed release dates for 2019.

The next DCEU movie set to come out is Aquaman and it's slated for a release on Dec. 21.
