DC President Tells Shazam! Director To Stop Playing Around On The Internet

It looks like DC Comic's bigwigs have started to notice director David F. Sandberg's little Instagram posts about Shazam. Joining the DC Extended Universe family this summer, the director of horror movies like Annabelle: Creation and Lights Out has been pretty busy sending photos about Shazam! on Instagram, goofing and trolling fans online while working on the film's pre-production.

Not only has the director posted an image of a fake script page online hinting at a showdown between Shazam and Henry Cavill's Superman, the director also been putting up daily photos of his office showing off tons of cans of Coke Zero and a buck load of action figures.

His office has gotten the attention of DC Films president and DC Comics chief creative officer, Geoff Johns. DC's head honcho crashed Sandberg's office and daily photo op by holding up a sign telling Sandberg to "get back to work!"

It's a pretty funny joke, but Johns' does have a point. Sandberg has a lot to work on – making a comic book movie isn't easy and though Shazam! is still scheduled for 2019, the director's has to get the gears rolling on pre-production. Only bits of information about the highly anticipated superhero film have made their way online with casting calls and leaked audition tapes giving fans something to speculate about as they wait for official announcements from Warner Bros.

Shazam! is scheduled for release on April 5, 2019.
