DC Announces New Watchmen Comic 'Rorshach' From Acclaimed Writer Tom King

If you're a fan of modern comic books, you'll know that Tom King is the master of the 12-issue maxi-series. His work on Omega Men, Mister Miracle, The Vision, and The Sheriff of Babylon have shown just how good he can be, with many of us looking forward to his Batman/Catwoman series with artist Clay Mann. DC seems to also have a lot of faith in King as the company has announced his next 12-issue maxi-series; Rorschach for Black Label.

And yes, this is Rorschach from Watchmen so we're sure Alan Moore is rolling his eyes over the announcement.

During a press release from DC Comics, it was announced that King would write the series while Jorge Fornes will provide illustrations. Rather than tell a story of his superhero days ala Before Watchmen, this is going to be more akin to the HBO Watchmen series as it's set after the comic book and will be dealing with the cultural impact Rorschach ends up having.

Be warned; Tom King himself calls the comic political so if you're one of those incels who doesn't like having politics in their comics, which is a lot of people apparently, then avoid this. Then again, if you're familiar with any of Tom King's comic books, you'll know that the guy loves to put politics in them.

"Like the HBO Watchmen show and very much like the original ‘86 Watchmen, this is a very political work. It's an angry work. We're so angry all the time now. We have to do something with that anger. It's called Rorschach not because of the character Rorschach, but because what you see in these characters tells you more about yourself than about them."

Fans will be able to pick up Rorschach #1 on October 13. It is part of DC's Black Label so only those 17 and up should pick up the comic.
