Chris Pratt: Cowboy Ninja Viking Is Still In Development

Chris Pratt has become an overnight star with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 catapulting him to A-List status. It's like he's being cast in hit after hit, and he's currently attached to the adaptation of Image Comics' Cowboy Ninja Viking.

Talking to Collider, Pratt gives an update on the movie. He says:

"It's still in development. It's definitely no joke. We've got a deal and we're moving forward. It's going to be [with] Universal. It's going to be really, really fantastic … We don't have a director. It's together, it's being put together. But we're in the process of talking to directors."

Though the movie doesn't have a director, the screenplay will be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the same guys behind Deadpool and Zombieland. They were hired to write the script back in 2010, and Pratt has been attached to Cowboy Ninja Viking since 2014.

As far as the story goes, Cowboy Ninja Viking is about a man named Duncan who has split personalities, and he can channel those of a cowboy, ninja, and Viking. Duncan uses all of his skills to track down rogue members of a counter intelligence unit. Sounds like something that would be fun for Pratt — and the audience of course.

No official release date has been set for Cowboy Ninja Viking, but you can watch Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it hits theaters May 5.
